This year has already allowed me to participate in some great musical projects. I was recently contacted by James, head of the RGCD editions to compose some additional tunes to the puzzle game GridPix that would join the catalog of new games for this old fellow Commodore 64.

This puzzle game called "Nonogram Puzzle" is similar to Picross principle which I played long hours on my Nintendo DS. This variation on C64 is done here by Carleton Handley, based on mini-pixel arts drawn by Ilija 'iLKke' Melentijevic.

Musically, I joined TDM and Merman to complete the sound team and propose a declination of a "Happy and acidulated" style, which you can find in this mini album, including only the titles that I composed for GridPix.

Written in two evenings while Madame was in training in Paris, I never imagined programming this kind of music for the Commodore.

I wanted to musically approach the sound of Super Mario Land 2, itself based on sounds chiptunes 8bits in country sauce .... my result blending with what in my head sounds like Lindsey Stirling's violin and a tip of Liquido giving a final Lemon Cactus-style cocktail:) And yes ... we can combine music and drink!

I add to this mini-EP-OST one of the research essai in a totally different style done as a prelude to the project.

Cette année m’a déjà permis de participer à quelques chouettes projets musicaux. J’ai dernièrement été contacté par James, responsable des éditions RGCD afin de composer quelques musiques supplémentaires au jeu de réflexion GridPix allait rejoindre le catalogue de nouveaux jeux de plus en plus imposants sur ce bon vieux Commodore 64.

Il s’agit d’un jeu de réflexion dit “Nonogram Puzzle” au principe similaire à Picross auquel j’ai joué de longues heures sur ma Nintendo DS. Cette déclinaison sur C64 est ici réalisée par Carleton Handley, reposant sur des mini-pixel arts de Ilija ‘iLKke’ Melentijevic.

Musicalement, je rejoingnais TDM et Merman afin de compléter l’univers sonore afin de proposer une déclinaison de style "Joyeux et acidulé", que vous pouvez retrouver dans ce mini album, ne comprenant que les titres que j'ai composé pour GridPix.

J'avais l'envie de m'approcher musicalement de l'ambiance sonores de Super Mario Land 2, lui même reposant sur des sons chiptunes 8bits à la sauce country.... mon résultat se mélangeant avec ce qui dans ma tête sonne comme le violon de Lindsey Stirling et une pointe de Liquido donnant au final un cocktail au gout Lemon Cactus : ) Si, si … on peut associer musique et boisson !

J'ajoute à ce mini-EP-OST un des essais de recherche dans un style totalement différent réalisé en prélude du projet.
